A banana is an edible fruit produced by several kinds of large herbaceous flowering plants. The fruit is variable in size, colour and firmness, but is usually elongated and curved, with soft flesh rich in starch covered with a rind. The fruits grow in clusters hanging from the top of the plant. According to the statistics (according to APIB/year 2013), Guatemala is the 3rd biggest exporter of banana worldwide. The most common banana type sold is the variety Cavendish which is processed by Antigua Processors S.A..
